About me

About me

My background is in Psychology (with a BA Single Hon, Exeter). After graduating, I worked many years as a qualitative market researcher. In my early 40s I decided to go back to my former training and specialised in counselling, and attained my Diploma in Professional Counselling (Integrative) at Kingston well over a decade ago. Since then I have further consolidated my training with numerous specialised courses ,whilst maintaining my Senior Accredited Membership status with the BACP (The British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy).

In order to comply with their strict requirements for all accredited members, I fulfill my CPD requirements, hold full personal indemnity insurance, attend regular courses and regular supervision with fellow professionals, to go over each other’s work as a means of helping and monitoring our work. I also abide by their rigorous Code of Conduct and Ethical Practice.

I have worked in a wide variety of professional settings : the Staff Welfare of the local Council, as a GP Counsellor, as a Senior School Counsellor, for a variety of large companies via their EAP (Private Insurance arrangements) and I now work primarily in private practice from my dedicated consulting room.

My experience as a counsellor has brought me into contact with a wide range of clients in terms of the issues they bring, their age, gender, race, religion and sexuality. I work both with individuals and couples and adults over the age of 16 years.

My first language is English. I additionally speak good Italian and a little French.
